This beautiful tree comes from North China and Korea. The homeland grows like an aphidtree bush or an enlarged tree, can grow up to 20 m high.
Leaves 15-44 cm long, shiny, dark green. The flowering time is long, about June through August. Flower heads are about 3.5 cm to 19 cm long.
Bee Tree is a two-home plant. The flowers are white to pale brownish, fragrant, 3-5 mm large.
Grow in well drained, limey soils. I can't bear the moisture.
Planted in a sunny to slightly shaded area. It's an attractive tree with glossy leaves, long and late flowering.
Seeds of bee tree in the homeland are consumed and oil is extracted from them. Fruit and seed heads are perfect for floristry.
Stratify for 30-60 days
Sow in pots on a wet substrate and cover only with a thin layer of soil (~ 1 mm).
Cover with transparent film or glass, the ground must be damp, the seeds sprouted in a light and warm (room temperature) room.
Seedlings should be planted in deep pots and grown in a glasshouse for the first year in winter.
