Bishop's Weed. Ammiya. Seeds of annual flowers, dry, decorative flowers.
Practically any place is suitable for growing ammiya, only it likes moisture.
Sow from March to May. You can also sow in autumn (September); then it overwinters and blooms the next year.
. The seeds are very small and need light to germinate, so when sowing the seeds, cover them lightly with soil - about a millimeter of soil is enough. When the seedlings are 5-7.5 cm high, thin out the sowing, leaving a distance of about 30 cm between the plants.
Ammiyas need a lot of water. The soil around them should never be allowed to dry out completely.
Ammiyas sown in spring bloom from June to August. Flowering begins about 12 weeks after sowing. Seeds are formed about 2 months after flowering.
Can self-sow. If you want to limit it, you need to remove the faded inflorescences. The seeds can attract small birds.
The inflorescences can be dried and used in floristry and other creative activities.
