Northern Magnolia is found in Japan and southern Korea, growing in hills and foothills.
Magnolia also grows up to 10 m in the Nordic countries and 6 m wide, the largest of magnolia.
The tree, with a dense and spacious wreath, grows very quickly. A shallow root system, so mulching is important.
Blooms in April, May, before the leaves thrive. Flowers large, 10 cm in diameter.
Grow well in fertile soil, which is enriched with hummus, damp enough but permeable, with a slightly sour reaction.
Magnolia prefers a sunny, wind-protected area, preferably on the southern walls of buildings or hedges. is mulched with pine bark mulch that will protect the plant's roots from freezing, as well as help maintain proper soil moisture.
Should be fertilised several times with Universal Mineral fertiliser during the period from March to early July.
Magnolia, which is seeded from seeds, is easier to adapt to growing conditions, although flowers will have to wait a little longer.
Sowing. Soak the seeds in warm water for a day. Sow in a wet substrate.
