Bladder bush, or colutea, is an elegant, unobtrusive decorative accent in the garden.
Grows from 2-4 meters, diameter about 2 meters.
These bushes also grow well on the sides of roads and streets, and tolerates a small amount of salt in winter. Otherwise, the bush is modest, and attracts bees very much during flowering.
It is a tall medium-sized shrub with flexible shoots, odd, compound leaves up to 15 cm long and bright yellow flowers, which are sometimes slightly pink.
Mature pods are up to 8 cm long and 3 cm wide, with many seeds.
Colutea grows quickly, but loves the sun, in a sunny place, blooms magnificently.
The bush is cold-resistant, but sometimes, in very severe winters, it can freeze, then the frozen plant grows back and blooms next year.
Old stems are cut off every year so that they bloom profusely.
Sowing:
Soak the seeds for 12 hours. in warm water.
Sow to a depth of 6 mm. The soil should be constantly moist, but not wet.
You can cover the nursery with a transparent film - it will retain moisture and heat. Be sure to remove it when the seeds begin to germinate.
Germinate at room temperature in a well-ventilated place, away from drafts and direct sunlight.
Seeds germinate in spring or early summer. Do not let the soil dry out, protect from direct sunlight.
