Western thuja Brabant. Seeds.

Height: 6m, Width: 1.5-3m Crown: irregular Needles: light green, changes color in winter. Suitable for hedges. The fastest growing thuja

Undemanding, tolerates pruning well. It feels best in neutral to slightly acidic, light loamy or loamy soil with a soil reaction of pH 5.5-7.5. When setting up plantings, it is preferable to mulch the beds with peat, bark mulch or some other material of organic origin. Planted at a distance of 0.6-0.8 m from each other. In order to form a dense, uniform plantation, thuja of this variety should be regularly pruned several times a year.

Decorative conifer variety. Suitable for urban greenery. It is well suited for planting both in solitary and in large groups in mixed beds together with other decorative forms of conifers and in lower hedges.

Sowing: Thuja seeds are fairly easy to germinate and grow. The seeds are best sown in March. Then, by the end of summer, the seedlings will have already gained strength and will be able to successfully overwinter,

First, the collected seeds are soaked in water for 24 hours.

Drain the water, dry the seeds on a napkin, mix with wet sand, put in a polyethylene bag and close the end. The bag is placed in a refrigerator at 4 °C. It is important that the seeds do not dry out, so check them from time to time (keep them moderately moist).

After about eight weeks, the seeds can be sown. It may happen that they begin to germinate earlier, before the end of the stratification period. In that case, sow immediately.

Acidic peat (pH 3.5) is filled in a pot or box, seeds are placed on top, then covered with a layer of substrate a few millimeters thick. During germination, the seeds are kept at room temperature and kept slightly moist. The seeds germinate after 2-3 weeks.

If there is a lot of space in the room, it is better to take many pots and sow seeds in them as rarely as possible. Then the small seedlings will not need to be picked and they will get stronger faster. If this is not possible, you can sow in a box and plant the plants in pots after germination.

Seeds in a package of 5 pcs.
