Plums with blue fruits are popularly called būkas (krēkīši). The trees are frost-resistant, modest, with small plums. Often propagated by root suckers and go wild. Such plums are good pollinators for the variety ‘Latvijas Dzeltenā Olplūme’.

Very easy to grow, this plum, which is close to the wild plum, is tolerant of drought, frost, and harsh north winds.

Very rich fruit flavor and produces every year, unless the flowers are affected by frost.

Excellent for decoration, canning, juices, and fresh eating.
