The naked seed or oil pumpkin OLGA (Cucurbita pepo) is grown only for seed production.
The seeds are without a hard shell, covered with a thin, transparent film, contain a large amount of oil.
The flesh of the pumpkin is of little value, it is used as animal feed or put in a compost pile.
For naked seed pumpkins, seedlings must be grown. This also accelerates the ripening of the crop. Sow in early May in a greenhouse in 6–8 cm diameter pots. Seedlings are planted after frost, in early June, at a distance of 1 x 1 m from each other. If necessary, the plantings are covered with agronet. The fruits are harvested in early September.
The fruits grow to 15 kg.
